Hey Ya’ll!

Guess what? H&M is having a *Mad Sale*…..Yes, yes! An additional 25% off all sale items!! What’s a girl to do? SHOP!!!!  You know how I loves me a good rummage! Since I am on a bit of a ‘budg’……translation: spending lockdown, I narrowed down my purchase to three must have items.

1) The rich red tapestry pant, reminiscent of this suit that pranced down the Fall RTW runway at Moschino. (Lurve!)
2) A dip dyed version of the shitty grey sweatshirt, which continues to be a huge trend for the season. I found this in the Men’s section for next to nothing….remember my tip! Always check out the Men’s Department!
3) A delicate boho lace tank which I feel I can winterize with some clever layering and accessories (stay tuned)

Would you believe I only paid $37 and change for these three items? …..And they don’t look overly ‘H&M-ey’….(yes, I made up an adjective) I digress.

Any readers from Toronto out there? Vic (that’s me) has a shopping tip for ya’ll! The H&M in Dufferin Mall is a great location to shop because it is tidy, well merchandised, there is an excellent children’s department and a super-sized fitting room for an obnoxious stroller….(if you happen to have one like me.) The fitting room staff are also friendly and accommodating which I find rare at an H&M.

Happy Shopping!

Last Days of Summer

Happy Hump Day!

Enjoying the last days of summer in my flowing floral dress….guess what, it’s thrifted! Surprise, surprise! I love pieces that can be layered up and worn when the weather gets chilly, but also work when the warm sun is a shining!

Tweedy & Lacey

Hey Juicettes!

Happy hump day! This Momma has a lot on the go right now so I’m gonna make this quick! Not quite ready to embrace Fall fashion just yet so I thought I would style up my thrifted tweed pants with an ultra feminine lace top. I’m all garden party on the top with a touch of Autumn on the bottom. (hey that rhymes!)

MG3How gorgeous is my Mum’s English Garden?
I definitely did not inherit her green thumb.

Have a great day!

Keeping it Simple in Khakis

Happy Monday!

Keeping it simple today in my thrifted men’s Ralph Lauren khakis and a basic tee. Bright tangerine accessories dress up the look and a pop of green on my tender tootsies add an unexpected twist. I could also dress this down with a subtle gold necklace, no belt, white converse all stars and aviator sunglasses. Brunch with friends or a casual walk in the park – a pair of classic khakis are a must in any gals wardrobe!

Urban Suburban

Hey Hey!
Last week-end Ed and I ventured to suburbia to spend a little time at the parental units. I will always be a bonafide city girl but sometimes it’s really nice to escape the hustle for a few days. No matter how old I get, there is something so comforting about going back to the place where I grew up. Nothing beats a good home cooked meal, doting (grand)parents, and that sense of security I get when I am back home. *insert musical interlude here*
Homeward bound,
Home, where my thought’s escaping,

Home, where my music’s playing,
Home, where my love lies waiting….

Omg it’s on repeat….Eeekkk, earworm city! Anyhoots, let’s get on with it. I hope you’re still with me. In today’s post I am mixing it up. A little city, a little surburby, a little high, and a little low, that’s just how I roll.

Something ’bout an Oxford

Good Monday Dear Juicettes!

Let’s hop to it! I am a menswear addict! Something about a slouchy, boyish cut, that when paired with a sassy heel, makes me feel oh so effortlessly chic! Thrift shopping in the menswear department is an absolute must for this frugal fashionista! In fact, the ‘broski’ section is a veritable goldmine of stylish treasure.  I can’t help but flash back to that episode of The Cosby show when Denise and Vanessa were headed to the Village wearing menswear separates from Cliff’s closet. Oh how uber cool they were! Cliff was none too impressed with his stylish daughters, as was my Dad when I wore his weathered grey t-shirt to the beach with my girl friends….I guess I should mention that it had a felt playboy bunny logo on it. I digress. That was ages ago but my penchant for menswear still runs strong. In today’s look I am sporting a thrifted men’s oxford shirt and Levis 501’s, I feel ready to hang with the gals in the village or saunter off to Yorkville for a quick bite with my bestie. Cheers!

Thrifted Florals

Hey Juicettes!

I watched Pretty in Pink for the millionth time over the week-end – hands down my all time favourite 80’s movie!  The teenage angst, the music, the fashion, the Duckman – it just never gets old!  I remember being obsessed with Andie Walsh and her kooky thrifted creations.  Andie loved her florals and so do I! That said, I am taking a page out of the characters book today….feeling Pretty in Pink…. Florals….isn’t she?

Oh no, where did my leg go? Kind of a weird shot…oh well!

Houndstooth Tap Short – 3 Ways {Casual}

Happy Friday Friends!

As we head into the long week-end I am feeling footloose and fancy free! The reason for this is…..well….eh…..many fold(s). Firstly, I have the sweetest, most adorable baby who was, as THYMWYA would say, “created from a cloud of glitter”. Secondly, it’s my birthday week-end and this Mama is gonna shake her money maker with a few of her best ‘g-frens‘ on Toronto Island. Thirdly, my ‘mans‘ and I are going on a romantic dinner date Sunday night sans bebe, it will be a dressy affair and a night to remember ….watch out!! Forthly, {see I told you there were many fold(s)} I am rounding out my One Short, Three Ways series today with a fun and casual look that is perfect for frolicking ‘aboot’ the city or in your backyard. Fifthly…just kidding…..I’ll stop there. It’s getting a little ridiculous now….you get the jist…life is pretty f**kin’ good!! I would love to know what’s making you feel like kickin’ off yer Sunday shoes this week-end….drop me a line!

Houndstooth Tap Short – 3 Ways {Dressed Up}

Hey Juicettes,

Welcome to the second installment of One Short, Three Ways! Today I am dressing up these ‘hot dawgs’ for a summer night out on the town. Who says you can’t teach an old hound new tricks?
HN3Obsessed with pattern mixing, I layered up an old thrifted animal print tank overtop of a sleeveless chiffon blouse. The pop of black peeking out from underneath the tank dulls down the clash of the two patterns and mimics the black ankle straps in the shoes. I threw on a white blazer to tailor and pull the look together.

What do you think?

Houndstooth Tap Short – 3 Ways {Street}

Hey Juicettes!

Thus far, this summer has been all about the three R’s, that being: reduce, re-use and re-cycle….especially when it comes to fashion. Maternity benefits do not leave much room for spontaneous spending so I find myself tapping into my creative side and making my existing wardrobe ‘werk‘ for me. My closet has become a revolving door of fashion, spitting out pieces I have had for years. Fortunately I find myself falling in love all over again.

I purchased these high waisted houndstooth shorts from American Apparel last year and never had the chance to wear them…..then I got pregnant…..whooops! Since I looooooves me a good houndstooth print, I am uber excited to fit my booty back into these shorty shorts again!  In fact, I am so excited that I have decided to style up these sassy little thangs in three different ways: Street, Night and Casual. This post is the first in the series of three….enjoy!

HF2‘Releasing the hounds’ to the street styled with Ed’s Hendrix tee, a thrifted animal print shirt and DIY booties. The look channels a festival vibe that I just can’t seem to get enough of these days.
